Excel (.xlsx) and CSV (Comma Separated Values) (.csv) files are both used for storing and handling data, but they have distinct differences in format, features, and usage. CSV files are commonly used for transferring data between programs, but some programs in addition to Excel and read data in and write data to XLSX format.
